The lifetime
repair undertaking.
Last updated 2 August 2026
Every piece the house makes carries a lifetime repair undertaking. It is not a warranty in the ordinary sense and it is deliberately unusual in one respect: it is held against the piece’s number, not against the person who bought it. Sell the piece, pass it on, leave it to someone — the undertaking goes with it.
What it covers
- Hinges, screws, rivets and every piece of brass on the frame, for as long as the piece exists.
- Relacquering and repolishing of acetate that has dulled with wear.
- Reshaping and refitting, as often as you want it, free.
- Stitching, edge finishing and brass fittings on the Coffret.
- Any manufacturing defect, at any point, without argument about when it appeared.
What it does not cover
- Lenses scratched in ordinary use. We replace them at cost, which is the fairest thing we can do.
- Loss or theft. Insure the piece.
- Damage from someone else’s repair attempt — though we will still quote to put it right.
- A piece with no certificate and no registered number. The number is what the undertaking attaches to.
Registering
Scratch the panel on your certificate and enter the code with your reference on the verification page. That is what ties the undertaking to your number. A code can be claimed once; if it has already been claimed, we will tell you when, and we can transfer the record if the piece has changed hands.
Your statutory rights
This undertaking is offered in addition to your legal rights and does not replace them. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and you keep those remedies whatever this page says.
Making a claim
Write to us through the contact page with your edition number and a photograph. We will tell you whether to send it in, and we pay the postage both ways on anything covered above.
